There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.

Community Connections

OAHE, Inc. actively seeks and encourages volunteers. Community members can volunteer to become an advocate for individuals served. An advocate is a friend who looks out for the best interest of people. An advocate offers people the opportunity to share in recreational activities and promotes community inclusion.

OAHE seeks opportunities to give back to the community by numerous volunteer activities including delivering meals-on-wheels to shut-ins, stuffing backpacks with food for school age children, serving meals at the banquet, and making decorative planters for nursing home residents.

OAHE individuals also connect to their community through purchasing services from various providers such as medical clinics, grocers, theaters, department stores, counselors, and landlords. We are active participants in our community including cheering on our local teams and participating in parades and much more.

The people we support are also employees at local businesses. Currently over 80 local businesses have benefited from employing people with disabilities. They rely on us to make their businesses successful.

Other opportunities to volunteer occur within the agency. Interested parties can contact OAHE, Inc. at 224-4501.
