Job Description
Oahe Inc. is seeking an Executive Director to lead it's team of 75 human service professionals. Oahe Inc. is a nonprofit Community Support Provider located in Pierre, SD currently supporting over 80 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Executive Director provides strategic direction, vision, leadership, and management of all areas of the agency in accordance with the agency's mission, vision and values.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, proven leader in developing and implementing program, organizational, operational, and financial plans. We seek someone who has a vision and dedication to person-centered services, builds and maintains productive working relationships, and will lead by example.
Job Requirements
Has a vision for the agency and conveys that vision to staff and the community.
Anticipates future needs of the agency and seeks various means to meet them.
Ensures organizational policies and procedures are established and implemented throughout the organization.
Ensures effective control of the organization's assets and financials.
Communicates regularly with staff, people supported and their families about organizational issues, direction of services and trends along with recognition for achievements.
Fosters a positive, servant driven and results oriented organizational culture and learning environment that compliments the organization's values.
Provides leadership in developing program, organizational, operational, and financial plans in consultation with the Board of Directors (Board) and staff.
Carries out plans and policies authorized by the Board.
Provides leadership to organization personnel through effective goal setting, objective(s) development, delegation, and communication.
Works with governmental agencies to assure maximum/appropriate levels of reimbursement for services provided by the agency.
Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Assures compliance with the regulatory, contractual and business requirements throughout the agency.
Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
Develops an annual operating budget for adoption by the Board.
Provides regular communication, as well as financial and operational reporting to the board.
Publicizes the activities of the agency, its programs, and goals.
Acts as primary spokesperson and advocate for the agency.
Represents the agency at conferences, meetings, and in the community.
Represents the agency to regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders, supporters, and the general public.

Oahe Inc., in Pierre South Dakota, is a nonprofit agency that serves a mission of helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide opportunities for the intellectual and developmentally disable adults to be a part of their community through our Day Service programs, one on one case management, employment coaching, and at home supports. We also provide medical equipment leasing opportunities and financial services, such as representative payee, trust management, and Veteran Affairs Fiduciary, to the public who are in need of some assistance.
